Good Business = Environment Protection

Conscious consumerism is on the rise. Amway has been riding this wave since 1959!

Research conducted in 2020 has found that 9 in 10 Australian consumers are more likely to purchase ethical and sustainable products.1

85 percent of consumers want retailers and brands to be more transparent about product sustainability.1

“Amway was founded on an ethos that doing business must never come at the expense of the environment. Since 1959, we’ve stayed true to it despite the world changing so rapidly. It remains true for the future, where looking after the environment is even more important,” said John Haines, Affiliate Leader for Australia & New Zealand.

Committed to sustainability
In today’s world, sustainability is a word that you hear often when it comes to corporates or products. But many don’t walk the talk.

In Amway’s world, it means looking after the environment while growing our business. It means ensuring that every ingredient has been sourced and farmed responsibly. It means not depleting our environment in pursuit of profit.

Better for the environment
Amway practiced sustainable farming for decades, long before the spotlight turned to focus on the importance of good farming practices.

With nearly 6000 acres of certified organic farmland, many plant-based botanical ingredients that go into our products are grown on Amway farms in line with their unique geographical needs.

“We follow organic and environmentally sound business practices when it comes to growing our ingredients, recycling our waste and using sustainable or recycled materials for our packaging all of which appeal to the conscious ethical consumer.”

“When it comes to our product quality, our IBOs can confidently show customers where the ingredients come from and how they are incorporated into the final products. I believe this level of transparency has driven our success in Australia and New Zealand and worldwide. People can read our labels easily and know exactly what they are consuming.”

“I often have IBOs tell me how much their health and lives have improved because of the products. This is due to Amway’s commitment to always follow organic and sustainably farmed ingredients,” said John.

“Two sustainable practices which have had a big impact is stocking re-usable bags and replacing plastic straws with recyclable paper straws across all Amway Business Centres in Australia and New Zealand. As a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation, we are dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of our packaging,” said John.

Amway is the Safer Choice
With supermarket shelves filled with home cleaning products full of nasty, health-affecting ingredients, the Safer Choice label is more evidence that we care about giving you and your family better and safer products through our Amway HOME™ brand.

“Wanting a clean home should not make you or your family sick. We’ve made it our life’s work to developing home cleaning products that are better and safer. Thanks to Amway’s partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2008, there are now more than 40 Amway home care products that are recognised by Safer Choice,” said John.

Protecting the environment and sustainability has always been a core focus for Amway, and it’ll continue to be so as we help even more people lead better and healthier lives.
